Great turnout at opening of Venice Drawings exhibition
The exhibition was held at Wombat Hollow in conjunction with Maunsell Wickes at the Barry Stern Galleries in Sydney.
The exhibition was opened by Luca Belgiorno-Nettis AM who also launched the much anticipated book: Desmond Freeman: Venice - Impressions in Ink.
The Bookshop Bowral handled sales and book signing for the duration of the exhibition.
Hosts for the exhibition, Michael and Susie Yabsley and Dominic Maunsell and Ted Wickes welcomed more than 350 people to the opening night and it is estimated that 850 visitors attended during the three days of the show. The exhibition had the generous support of The Italian Cultural Institute Sydney and the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Australia. Guests enjoyed a wonderful feast of Italian delicacies and wine generously supplied by Huntington Estate.
The exhibition was also a great commercial success with more than 20 pictures sold.
