Australian Artist Desmond Freeman awarded Gold Medal at Independent Publishers Awards 2017 in New York, USA.

Bowral NSW resident artist, Desmond Freeman has been awarded the Gold Medal in the Fine Arts category of the 21st Annual Independent Publishers Book Awards in New York City for his book ‘Desmond Freeman Venice – Impressions in Ink’. This year's contest drew more than 5,000 entries from 49 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, 7 Canadian provinces, 7 Australian territories, and 29 other countries around the world. Winning books represent 43 U.S. states and D.C., all 7 of the Canadian provinces, 6 of the Australian territories, and 15 other countries. The Awards were presented in New York on 30 May 2017.

The 88-page full colour book displays 50 of Freeman’s spectacular pen and ink drawings of the architecture of Venice interspersed with poetry and text from well-known authors.
